When shelling (rockets/large shells) enters a residential area, citizens should prepare for safety and life first as follows:

1) Prepare a safe shelter

• Choose a strong place such as a basement, an interior room of a building, or a thick concrete wall

• Away from windows and doors (glass is easy to break)

• If outside → sleep on the ground in a low place, away from buildings and cars

2) Prepare the necessary equipment (Emergency Kit)

• Clean water and dry food (at least 3 days)

• First aid, personal medicine

• Flashlight, extra batteries, phone with batteries

• Protective clothing, hat, raincoat

• Important documents (ID/passport) in a waterproof bag

3) When you hear gunfire or warning signs

• Do not run outside in panic

• Go to a shelter immediately and lie down/sit low

• Turn off the lights if possible to reduce targets

4) Protect children and the elderly

• Keep children close

•  Teach children to lie low, cover their ears and mouth

• Help the elderly or sick to get to safety first

5) After the shooting

• Do not go outside immediately (there may be unexploded shells)

• Do not touch foreign objects or unexploded shells

• Listen to information from authorities and follow instructions

6) Prepare a plan in advance

• Know evacuation routes and assembly points

• Discuss with your family what to do and where to meet if separated
