Sak Yant tattoos have a very strong tie to spirituality, faith and religion. They were originally introduced to the world by the Khmer people, from the Khmer Empire.
Tattoo are believed to be magic and inspire power and strength. The holiest of monks comes to engrave the warriors all the Sak Yant before the battle for inspired to be fierce and brave.
The magical language used in Sak Yants
has a Vedic or Buddhist mantra written within the design. Khom Agkhara, or Khmer Sanskrit, is the script that these mantras are written in. And it is said that the script itself adds Khmer sorcery to the yant.
To learn how the Sak Yant came to light, the Khmer language was influenced by Sanskrit and Pali languages which entered Cambodia during ancient times along with Hinduism and Buddhism, and thereafter, these languages have enriched Cambodian culture. Now it is very popular in Thailand and Laos country.
